To celebrate the launch of Ireland’s most exciting destination wedding and honeymoon website, The Irish Times have teamed up with Runaway Bride and Groom to find the right candidate to do 6 months of research… researching the most romantic and ultimate wedding and honeymoon venues around the world – with their partner.
They are looking for the right person (and their partner) to research and test out the most romantic and ultimate wedding and honeymoon destinations all over the world and then report back with their verdict (on the place, not the partner!) to their boss, 4,000 miles away.
You will need to have for The Ultimate Job in Ireland (and probably the World!):
Good communication skills
Be passionate about travelling
Appreciate good service, fine dining and luxurious surroundings
Have a friendly personality
Be able to work on own initiative
Know how to enjoy life
Have good organisational skills
Have a romantically-linked other-half, who also has the above qualifications and who is willing to accompany you on your trip (in a voluntary capacity).
The Role for The Ultimate Job in Ireland (And probably the World!):
Involves 6 months of travel
Remuneration: euro 20,000.
Travel and accommodation for you and your significant other to accompany you on this ‘horrendous’ assignment.

Rules of Entry for The Ultimate Job in Ireland (and probably the World!)
- Applicant and partner must be over 18 years old on application
- Employees or friends and family of employees of www.theweddingplanner.ie, Zaras Planet, First Ireland, The Irish Times or Practice PR & Events cannot apply (sorry guys!)
- Applicants do not have to be Irish or a resident in Ireland to enter.
- Applicants who have, or whose partner has a criminal conviction, has been deported or for any other reason which would prevent them being granted a visa or entry into any country, are not eligible to apply.
- All applicants understand that their application video may be broadcast and exploited in all media now known or to be invented throughout the world and will attract public attention and that they have no claim whatsoever against Runaway Bride and Groom (RBG) in respect of the unauthorised use by third parties and they agree that RBG may edit, adapt, reuse, translate or remove their contribution.
- Applicants are open to all romantically linked couples over the age of 18 years regardless of gender, race or creed.
- RBG have the right to block or delete any video which we feel is inappropriate, irrelevant, deemed in our minds as offensive or for any other reason, without explanation.
- The contract will include promotion work in Ireland, written assignments, media interviews, etc. which the successful couple will need to make themselves available for.
- Your contract will begin on the first day of travel (approx. 10th May 2010) and will end on the 19th November. However the successful applicant may be required to do interviews and promotions within reason during the 12 months following the end of their contract.
- The contract will be with the applicant of the webcast.
- The applicant and their partner may appear in only one video application. Detection of a second video with either applicant or partner will disqualify applicant and partner.
- Other than the media agreed by the organisers, the successful applicant and partner will not be allowed to write articles, webcast, twitter or blog for any other company, organisation, media, individual or selves during the contract or for 12 months following the contract in regards to their travels, experiences, travel or interaction with RBG, Zaras Planet or The Wedding Planner, without prior written permission from the Managing Director of RBG.
- The webcast video submitted must be 80 seconds or less. Any webcasts above 80 seconds will be subject to disqualification.
- Videos will be open to ranking and voting. This will bring the most popular couples and videos to the judges attention. We will view all submissions, so all submissions will be judged on content and merit and not on ranking and votes. The judges decision is final on choosing the 50 qualifying couples for the next round regardless of ranking, votes or number of views.
- The 50 (fifty) qualifying couples will be announced in the Irish Times on 9th April 2010. The judges decision is final and no discussion regarding non qualifying applicants will be entered into. The qualifying couples will be sent a detailed application form, terms & conditions of contract and requested to complete a written task. The qualifying 50 videos will be ring fenced – voting and ranking for the qualifying 50, will go back to zero and voting will be opened to public voting from midnight (GMT) of the 9th April to midnight on 23rd April 2010.
- The judges will pick 9 finalist couples from the 50 qualifiers, based on their video and written application. The video which receives the most public votes between the 10th April and 22nd April will go through as the 10th finalist, on condition that they agree with terms and conditions of the contract.
The 10 finalist couples will be required to participate in some decision making tasks and interviews with the judges during the final week of April.
- The successful couple will be announced at a gala dinner on the 2nd May 2010.
- Judges decision is final in all matters.
